At NWSSSS the Edge Award is integrated into the school curriculum to provide a structure that we can use to inspire and develop students as individuals.
The Edge is a framework to develop and accredit in students those personal attributes that are essential for employability and life.
The key attributes for development are:
Leadership
Organisation
Resilience
Initiative
Communication
The type of activities that a student or class may follow depend very much on their interests, curiosity and personal developmental needs.
Students are encouraged to reflect on their progress in terms of the characteristic that they are working on and this is logged online.
Students have to successfully complete 2 activities for each attribute to earn the Apprentice level award.
