FIRST HALF HOUR CALLING
Regular attendance in school is essential to allow learners to access the curriculum and achieve their potential. At the Short Stay School we follow up every absence within the first half hour by phone calls to students and parents.
IF YOUR CHILD IS UNWELL
If your child is ill and unable to attend school please call the site and leave a message to inform us by 9am.
INCLUSION SERVICE
We recognise the importance of working with learners and families and support learners who have poor attendance to overcome any barriers. We can refer to the Family Support Programme if morning routines are a challenge. We can support learners with organisation and timing.
We work closely with the Inclusion Service and any learner with a poor attendance pattern is closely monitored and supported. Sometimes this support does not have an impact and in extreme cases the Inclusion Officer may support the school using an Attendance Order or a penalty fine for holiday in term time.
